Hammers Lacrosse, founded in October of 2014 by Ricky Reyes and Chris Bourassa, was created with one simple goal in mind:
To use the sport of lacrosse to prepare our athletes to be successful on the field, in the classroom and, most importantly, in life.
THE HAMMERS DIFFERENCE
We brought together the area's top coaches, made up of current/former high school and college coaches as well as college players to lead, develop and mentor our players. All of our coaches are background checked, paid and are constantly developed throughout the year.
We provide our athletes with an unmatched training environment through top-notch facilities and fields while surrounding our players with positive role models who will push and guide them to be their best.
We take a unique approach to developing the complete overall individual through our innovative, six-pillar system, H.A.M.M.E.R. which has helped prepare over 75 of our alumni to compete and make an impact on and off the field at the next level.
The Evergreen Lacrosse Club was founded in October 2014 by Ricky Reyes and Chris Bourassa. The then training-only program was based out of the Evergreen Sportsplex in Leesburg, Virginia and aimed to provide top notch instruction and training opportunities for athletes in the area no matter what their goal may have been whether it was to prepare themselves to play at the highest level or even learn how to play the game.
After a very successful first few months of just offering training to the public, the demand for the club to launch another program, Travel Teams, was high. Finally, in the Summer of 2015, the Evergreen Lacrosse Club fielded their first three teams - Evergreen HS, Evergreen U15 and Evergreen U13. The travel program revolved around the development of the athlete and was accomplished through high quality coaching, top notch facilities, and numerous training opportunities each week that they could take advantage of.
As the years went on, the focus remained the same and the club quickly grew from three teams to as high as ten in a short period of time while continuing to offer year-round programming for Boys and Girls in the community.
In the Summer of 2019, the Evergreen Lacrosse Club began its transition to Hammers Lacrosse as a way to be consistent with our sister clubs (Hammers Football and Hammers Field Hockey). Despite wearing new colors and a new logo, our mission of developing our athletes and pushing them to be the best versions of themselves has never changed.
Since the launch of our travel program in 2015, we have proudly sent over 75 student-athletes to go on and compete at the next level while also serving thousands of boys and girls from all over Virginia and Maryland.
In the Summer of 2021, Hammers Lacrosse officially expanded it's services to the Loudoun County, Prince William County and Shenandoah Valley region.
This will allow for more convenient and affordable training options for families and athletes wherever they may reside.
