LEESBURG, VIRGINIA - June 13th, 2021 - The Hammers Lacrosse Club is excited to announce its official expansion into Loudoun County, Prince William County and the Shenandoah Valley regions with official year-round programming to begin this Fall. With this expansion, Hammers will be able to offer more affordable and convenient programming to Boys in 3rd through 12th Grade in the form of Select Teams, camps, clinics and leagues.

"We're excited to have the opportunity to bring our high level training, programming and instruction to Prince William County and the Shenandoah Valley region. While we have been more than happy with how our club has grown over the years since 2014, we have always had a desire to be able to make it more convenient for families to have access to our training and travel teams. We have a large percentage of our families that represent the Prince William and Shenandoah Valley regions where majority of them drive 45 minutes to 2 hours just to be able to have their son(s) benefit from our training and instruction. We're honored and proud of the level of commitment those families have shown the past few years but when we had the opportunity to cut down their commute but still provide a high quality service at a more affordable cost, it was a no-brainier for us" said Ricky Reyes who has been the Director of the club since it's inception.

Loudoun Select, Valley Select and Prince William Select will offer year-round select travel team opportunities for Boys in the 3rd - 12th Grade in their specific area. The ultimate goal for these territory-specific select teams is to grow both interest and participation in the sport so local recreation teams and the local high schools can have full rosters at every age and skill level. The top 20-22 players at each graduation year will have the opportunity to play on the Hammers Elite program which will serve as the top team at every graduation year with a major focus on preparing its players for the next level.

Each new territory will have it's own Territory Director to help lead the program and ensure it's growth and success. They'll continue to be aided by the entire Hammers Technical Staff as well as all of the Hammers Coaches who have been a part of the program for the past few years.

  • Loudoun Select will be led by Territory Director, Coach Kevin Buehler who will also continue to serve as the Virginia Manager of Hammers Lacrosse. He will aid Director Ricky Reyes in overseeing all of the programming in the club. Loudoun Select will train out of the Evergreen Sportsplex in Leesburg, Virginia.
  • Prince William Select will be led by Territory Director, Sean McMahon who is the Head Coach at Gainesville High School. These teams will primarily train out of Nokesville, Virginia but will also have access to a variety of other fields and facilities such as the Woodbridge Indoor Sportsplex.
  • Valley Select will be led by Territory Director, Coach Choppy Burke, who is the Head Coach at Woodgrove High School. These teams will primarily train out of the Winchester Sportsplex but will also have access to a variety of other fields and facilities as well.
  • Hammers ELITE will be led by Coach Kellen McCarthy who is an Assistant Coach at NCAA Division III, Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. These teams will train out of the Evergreen Sportsplex.

Tryouts for the Hammers Select teams will be held on July 27, 28 and 29 as well as August 14, 15  at their specific locations. Hammer Elite team tryouts will be held on August 16th and 17th at the Evergreen Sportsplex. In order to attend Elite Team tryouts, players must attend a select team tryout and be invited.

Registration is now live and can be found here: www.Hammerslax.com/tryouts.

Stay tuned over the next few days as Hammers Lacrosse will officially welcome and introduce their new territory directors.
