NOKESVILLE, VIRGINIA - Hammers '23 Elite Midfielder, Sam Fernandez (Uncommitted - Patriot HS) had himself a night scoring 5 of the Pioneers 7 goals to lead them to a key 7-4 playoff victory over conference rivals, John Champe High School. With this win, the Pioneers keep their season alive and head to the Regional Championship where they'll take on the winner of Battlefield/Riverbend.

Per Alex Khu of Prince William County Sports Group: "Tonight’s Grim Award goes to Sam Fernandez (1st Team All District) who scored 5 goals for the Patriot Pioneers in the Regional Semifinal matchup vs John Champe, that saw the Pioneers to victory by a score of 7-4. In true Reaper style, Sam harvested the soul of Champe’s defense to ensure the Pioneers advance to the Regional Championship. Congrats Sam, this Grim is for you!"

Sam was named a 1st Team All-District Midfielder earlier last week and continued to show why he deserved that honor. He will be an integral part of the Hammers 2023 Elite Offense  and will surely be turning the heads of college coaches at every event this Summer.

Hammers Lacrosse recently expanded into the Prince William and Shenandoah Valley regions in addition to Loudoun County. Tryout Registration for the Fall 2021 to Summer 2022 season is now live and can be found here.
